    FASCISTS! These communists are worse than the KMT. How much longer before the counter-revolution? They care more about their hold on power than the dignity and security of their subjects. I can’t even have my students log onto the BBC news site, Wikipedia, or even google news! What other country on earth can only maintain power by actively keeping its people stupid?

    The use of the word “democratic” in that quote sounds like empty rhetoric to me. Are these “political participation channels” really for people to express themselves, or just another instrument of government control?

    This is a very important issue, that the government itself has set up a standard of open and free participation, so it should live up to its own standards and set them free. Talking and studying about democracy should not be a crime and this mistake on the part of some of the authorities should be fixed.
